April 25, 2016

Hey everyone!

Its been an awesome week, Reina got baptized! :) she was so happy and all 4 of her kids were there supporting her. It was one of the most powerful baptisms that I have been in, I think because she has fought so hard to get to this point and has had to jump through SO many obstacles. her husband still doesn't want much to do with us, but he at least didn't prevent her from getting baptized!

We´ve also been super busy this week helping investigators and converts move houses.. we are becoming expert movers.

also I will never again take heating for granted. our house is seriously a freezer and getting out of bed at 630 is torture haha we have to do seriously intense exercises to make it even a little bit bearable.

but life is SO good and I couldn't be happier to be here!

love you all!!

#notdeadyet

Hey everyone!

its been a super awesome week! we spent 3 days in tupiza with our sisters there. its a 7 hour bus ride and the bus leaves at 10 PM.. so it makes for a lonnng night. literally the whole bus was snoring and I thought I was going to go insane by the time we got there! but it was super awesome being there! I felt like I was in a western movie or something! also something cool is that I've officially been to the whole mission!

Click for Optionsalso this week we had zone conference, my last one :( as I stood up to give my ¨last testimony¨ I sorta felt like I was being kicked off the island! it was a weird feeling trying to express in 3 minutes all of the things that I have learned and blessings that I have received in the last 16 months. they are seriously countless and I couldn't be more grateful! AND I'm grateful for all the time that I have left!

also Reina, the lady that was supposed to get baptized awhile ago but couldn't cause her husband wouldn't giver her permission, is getting baptized this week! wahoo! we are praying that everything goes well this time.

there are lots of missionaries here from Ecuador that haven't been able to contact their families, lots of prayers for them please!
love you all!

Chicken Foot Soup

hey everyone!

the week has flown by! its getting chillier and chillier here, but I love Potosi and seriously couldnt be happier to be here, the people are AMAZING.

cool story this week: we were on divisions with one of our companionships and I was in their area. we got a call from someone that said some missionaries had given her a folleto (idk what that is in english.. little book?) like a year ago with their number on it and wanted to talk to us. our appointment had just fallen through so we went running. when we got there we got to know her a little bit and asked her what motivated her to call us. she said that she didn't think much about the folleto after they gave it to her, but that she has had a really hard month, that she has made some big mistakes, that she needs to change, and she remembered that the missionaries had told her they had ¨a message of happiness.¨ In just the half hour that we were able to talk to her and explain to her that nobody is ever too far out of reach of Christ´s love, she completely changed, we saw a glimmer of hope enter into her eyes and she told us ¨this is what I have been looking for¨
Chicken foot soup!
I love this work because I love seeing the way people change and the happiness this message brings into the lives of people that feel that all is lost!

on another note, pictured is the chicken foot that was found in my soup this week. haha this time I couldn't hold in my reaction when I saw it. I let out a little squeal and my pensionista was in shock that I had never eaten one before. I'm adding that to the list of weird things that I can say I've tried once and once is sufficient!

love you all! have a good week :)

April 4, 2016

hey everyone!

what. a. week. haha I feel like that's about all I need to say about this week. but a few events:

1. did TWO apartment moves - sore arms for days
2. flew into cochabamba for our leadership meeting - slept in heaven (the mission home) and ate a salad for the first time in 15 months Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes
3. slept on the bathroom floor saturday night cause I went a little  overboard on the hot sauce at lunch and threw up ALL night Face with medical mask
4. GENERAL CONFERENCE! well we caught about 3/4 of it cause the signal would go out every few minutes.. haha it turned into a game of ¨fill in the blank.¨ BUT it was still super awesome.

a quote I loved: ¨you can have what you want, or you can have something better.¨
I've learned a lot about trials in the last year and I've learned that a lot of times Heavenly Father gives us trials because he has something for us to learn, and in the end has something a lot better to give us.

I love you all, thank you for all the love and support!
