dynamite

hey everyone!

the days are flying by sooo fast that this whole week is just a blur to me. but we are enjoying every minute, finding lots of awesome people, and having so much fun. we are seriously in an area of miracles. we get to the house everyday just SO grateful because even on the hardest days, we see amazing things.
its getting suuuper cold.
but when we are feeling bad for ourselves and our frozen, wind burned faces, we just think of the pioneers and remember that we dont have it all that bad and keep on going!
Potosi is known for its huge mine.. I've wanted to take a tour inside of it since I got here but nobody wanted to go.. well haha this week we talked the zone into it and realized why nobody wanted to go before. it was actually pretty cool, but we saw lots of weird things and beliefs.. also a few super claustrophobic moments cause like there are parts that you pretty much have to get on your knees and crawl.. I was just telling myself to breathe and praying that we would get out alive. definitely a one time thing, but a cool experience!

well not sure what else to say...

have a great week! love you all!

Bolivian Hospitals

hey everyone!!

power went out in potosi ha so not much time to write, but an update on this crazy week:
we spent 3 days in the hospital.. I woke up thursday morning to Hna Roberts like... dead. ha so we went to the ER and the doctor looked at her for like 2 seconds and was like, ¨yep, looks like you have pharingitis!¨ and gives us like 7 antibiotics to buy. I thought it was so weird cause her throat wasnt hurting her at all. But she was super bad and we didnt really have a lot of other options so we started heading out to the pharmacy (the whole time just praying my heart out) and when we got to the door this random lady pulls us to the side and asks whats wrong.. we told her we werent really sure, and that we didnt think it was the right diagnosis. her husband called up his friend thats a doctor in another hospital.. they took us there, got us the right diagnosis, and took us back to the other hospital and stayed with us until hna Roberts had been admitted and everything was good. turns out she had salmonella and parasites.. almost pharangitis?? haha ugh. but I dont know if I have ever been so grateful for 2 people in my whole life. I really do feel like they were angels!

Click for Optionsso we spent the next 3 days in the hospital. haha I ¨slept¨ on the floor with 2 little couch cushions that covered about half of me. and it was hilarious cause the nurses were coming in all night like tripping over me hahah by day 3 we were literally going insane from no sleep and nothing to distract us. BUT it was an experience we will never forget - and one that made us so grateful for American hospitals!

that was the biggest highlight this week, but despite that we are working hard and teaching lots of really amazing people here in Potosi! I love you all! see you soon!

Double American

hello hello!!

first of all let me just say that being with an american again is awesome - we are having a blast together and working super hard and most definitely sing ¨proud to be an american¨ every night. also we get hilarious comments everyday.. our most frequently asked question is what kind of food we eat in the states. we always answer ¨Mexican, Italian, Chinese, etc...¨ and their like ¨uh.. no AMERICAN food¨ and we´re like ¨hmm.. hamburgers?¨ haha its actually kinda embarrassing. also this week someone asked us if we could ¨make them a McDonalds hamburger¨ cause they've always wanted to try McDonalds... hahaha we didn't even know what to say.

I am loving being here and am taking in every single day. I am constantly learning new things and am SO grateful for the things these people have taught me. something we have been working on with lots of our investigators this week who are passing for countless problems is in Jacob 4:10.. ¨Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but take counsel from his hand...¨  this is something that I am learning everyday. to know that Heavenly Father knows what we need and its not our job to try and tell him what we want, but rather happily take what he gives us. I struggle ev
everyday to understand why so many people here live such hard, almost impossible lives, while I have been blessed with SO much. but I know that He has a plan for all of his children and one day we will understand it all.

I love you all!

Freezing

hey everyone!!

life is SO cold but SO good. my new companion is hermana roberts, shes from arizona so this cold is killing her even more than its killing me. but she is so awesome and our theme is ¨work hard play hard¨
we literally have to sleep like we are camping.. because if not we cant feel our nose or our feet when we wake up. also we have this little tiny heater thing that is our only salvation and this morning it started sparking... hahah so that has us a little nervous.
our area is doing awesome. we have seen so many miracles this week and Im so excited to see whats in store for us this transfer.
love you all!!

Cocha

hey everyone!
not much time to write, we are in uyuni, these awesome salt flats and just have a sec to write! (I{ll send cool pics next week) we left at 4 this morning, it has already been quite an adventure!
this week we were in cocha for our leadership meeting. some highlights: homemade cinammon rolls for breakfast, eating ice cream at night without freezing to death, going to the temple again after 6 months, walking to the airport with our suitcases because the whole city was blocked off - we had news channels from everywhere trying to interview us haha!
I wish I had time to write all of the miracles we have experienced this week! this work is truly amazing and I couldn't be happier to be here! love you all!

April 25, 2016

Hey everyone!

Its been an awesome week, Reina got baptized! :) she was so happy and all 4 of her kids were there supporting her. It was one of the most powerful baptisms that I have been in, I think because she has fought so hard to get to this point and has had to jump through SO many obstacles. her husband still doesn't want much to do with us, but he at least didn't prevent her from getting baptized!

We´ve also been super busy this week helping investigators and converts move houses.. we are becoming expert movers.

also I will never again take heating for granted. our house is seriously a freezer and getting out of bed at 630 is torture haha we have to do seriously intense exercises to make it even a little bit bearable.

but life is SO good and I couldn't be happier to be here!

love you all!!

#notdeadyet

Hey everyone!

its been a super awesome week! we spent 3 days in tupiza with our sisters there. its a 7 hour bus ride and the bus leaves at 10 PM.. so it makes for a lonnng night. literally the whole bus was snoring and I thought I was going to go insane by the time we got there! but it was super awesome being there! I felt like I was in a western movie or something! also something cool is that I've officially been to the whole mission!

Click for Optionsalso this week we had zone conference, my last one :( as I stood up to give my ¨last testimony¨ I sorta felt like I was being kicked off the island! it was a weird feeling trying to express in 3 minutes all of the things that I have learned and blessings that I have received in the last 16 months. they are seriously countless and I couldn't be more grateful! AND I'm grateful for all the time that I have left!

also Reina, the lady that was supposed to get baptized awhile ago but couldn't cause her husband wouldn't giver her permission, is getting baptized this week! wahoo! we are praying that everything goes well this time.

there are lots of missionaries here from Ecuador that haven't been able to contact their families, lots of prayers for them please!
love you all!
